Privacy Policy — TrueSight Chrome Extension

Effective date: August 08, 2025

We designed TrueSight to be privacy-first. Analysis happens locally in your browser. We do not run ads, analytics, or tracking pixels.

1) Information We Collect

We do not collect personally identifiable information. The extension analyzes only the text content visible on the page you choose to scan (e.g., YouTube titles, descriptions, hashtags, and comments).

2) Local Storage & Keys

To enforce scan limits and remember your preferences, TrueSight stores a few small values in your browser’s local storage:

These values never leave your device unless you explicitly email us a screenshot for support.

3) License Verification

If you purchase a license, TrueSight calls Gumroad’s License API to validate your key and product entitlement. We do not store payment information.

Validation includes sending your license key and the product ID to Gumroad’s API over HTTPS to confirm it’s active and within usage limits.

4) Permissions

The extension requests minimal permissions required to function:

We do not access your browsing history or unrelated sites.

5) Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any personal data. There are no third‑party analytics or advertising SDKs.

6) Data Retention & Control

All data is stored locally in your browser. You can clear it anytime via chrome://settings/clearBrowserData or by removing the extension. Licensed limits are enforced by Gumroad’s server and may not reset by clearing local data.

7) Children’s Privacy

TrueSight is not directed to children under 13 and should not be used by them.

8) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy for clarity or compliance. The “Effective date” above will be revised and updates will be posted on this page.
