Privacy Policy — TrueSight Chrome Extension
Last updated: November 17, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how the TrueSight Chrome Extension (“TrueSight”, “we”, “us”) handles information. TrueSight is developed and published by ExcelUserForm.com. We designed TrueSight to be privacy-first: no tracking, no selling data, and no server-side storage.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
TrueSight does not collect, store, sell, or share any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, or contact details
- Passwords or account credentials
- Browsing history or cookies
- IP addresses or device identifiers
- Payment information
- Personally identifiable information (PII)
We do not run advertising, analytics trackers, or background scripts that monitor your activity across sites.
2. What TrueSight Processes Locally
To analyze a video you choose to scan (for example, on YouTube), TrueSight temporarily processes:
- Frames captured from the currently visible video
- Publicly visible metadata (title, description, tags, timestamps)
- Public comments, when included in the analysis
This processing happens in your browser. TrueSight does not access other tabs or websites that you have not explicitly chosen to scan.
3. Data Sent to OpenAI (AI Analysis)
When you click “Scan,” TrueSight sends a limited set of data to OpenAI’s API so that the AI model can provide a deepfake / synthetic media assessment. This may include:
- Video frame images captured from the current video
- Publicly visible title, description, and other metadata
- Optional textual summaries derived from public comments
OpenAI uses this information only to generate the analysis result and returns:
- A verdict (e.g., likely real, likely AI-generated, unclear)
- A confidence estimate
- A brief explanation of its reasoning
We do not send any personal identifiers about you along with these requests.
4. License Verification via Gumroad
If you purchase a TrueSight license, the extension verifies the license using the Gumroad License API. To do this, TrueSight sends:
- The license key you enter
- The TrueSight product ID
Gumroad responds with whether the license is valid and active. We do not receive or store your payment information, name, or email via the extension. All billing data is handled directly by Gumroad.
5. Local Storage Only
TrueSight stores a small amount of information in your browser’s local storage to make the extension work:
scanCount– number of free scans usedhasLicense/licenseValid– whether a license has been validatedlicenseKey– your license key (if you choose to save it)lastVerdict, lastConfidence, lastSummary– most recent scan result
This information stays on your device and is not sent to our own servers. You can remove it at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing site data in your browser.
6. No Server-Side Storage
ExcelUserForm.com does not run a backend server for TrueSight. We do not:
- Store logs of your scans
- Maintain databases of users or videos scanned
- Aggregate or sell usage data
All interactions are directly between your browser and the third-party APIs (OpenAI and Gumroad) as described above.
7. Chrome Permissions
TrueSight requests only the permissions required for its functionality:
- activeTab / tabs – to read the current YouTube tab and capture frames from the visible video.
- storage – to store local preferences, scan counts, and license status.
- Host permissions – for:
https://www.youtube.com/*– scanning the video you are currently viewing.https://api.openai.com/*– sending content for AI-based analysis.https://api.gumroad.com/*– validating license keys.
We do not access unrelated websites or data outside what is needed to analyze the video you explicitly choose.
8. Children’s Privacy
TrueSight is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child is using TrueSight, you may remove the extension at any time.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Continued use of TrueSight after a policy update means you accept the revised terms.
